I would like to invite everyone to the Miss Greater Watertown Scholarship Program’s annual Perfect Pet Pageant. The competition will be on Friday, September 17th, at 6:00p.m. The awards will be presented on Saturday, September 18th, 11:00 a.m., during Watertown’s Fall Festival. Both events will be held at Veteran’s Park in Watertown. Our panel of judges includes our very own Miss Greater Watertown, Lisa Nemense. Contestants will be judged on: Health & Overall Appearance, Friendliness Towards Peers & People, Manners & Good Behavior, and Overall Cuteness. Please join us in crowning Watertown’s Perfect Pet. Hello everyone! This year the Greater Bridgeport HIV/AIDS Care Consortium will be holding their 21st Annual "Walk for a Cure" AIDS Walk in Washington Park Bridgeport, CT on October 2 (rain date October 9). I have been named administrator of this year's walk and am working with the Greater Bridgeport HIV/AIDS Care Consortium to plan and prepare this year's event! They are relying on me to find to find both volunteers to help with registration and the set up of the event and walkers! I would love to create a Team Miss Connecticut and I'd love your support! I am asking each walker to bring a $10 donation with them if they are going to walk and I have sponsor letters being mailed to me so if you'd like to raise more, which would of course be wonderful I'll mail you one of the forms! I am also in need of volunteers to help out with morning set up and registration. You can both volunteer and walk if you'd like! Registration begins at 9:30 and the walk will begin at 11:30. I hope to make Team Miss Connecticut the largest group the Bridgeport AIDS Walk has ever had!!! In order to do so though, I need your help! Brittany is in Haiti again this week visiting the Christian Haitian Outreach Orphanage. She was there last May and is happy to be back there again spending time with the amazing children, visiting new places, and doing some more charitable work. She fundraised and brought many items from onnecticut donors. She is there with a friend who went on the trip last time, and the CEO of the orphanage met them in Miami as is also accompanying her on the trip. To "Interested Contestant", I went thru the posts and here are a list of locals posted thus far; Bristol/Oct 2 Naugatuck Valley/Oct 16 Southington/Oct 3 Hartford Cty:Rocky Hill/Nov 20 Watertown/Now 27 Litchfield Cty/Dec 11 Hope that helps. |

Announcing a NEW, Fall date for Miss Greater Watertown (Miss AND Outstanding Teen). The pageant will be held on Saturday, November 27th. Contestants for the Greater Watertown competition must live, work or go to school in Woodbury, Southbury, Thomaston, Middlebury, Oakville, Bethlehem, Watertown, Morris, Roxbury, Washington Depot, Newtown or Lakeside. A few rehearsals will be held beginning Friday, October 15th. Interested contestants for either group, please request information by e-mailing pageant_watertown@yahoo.com |
