Post University to Offer Master’s Degree Program In-Kind Scholarship to a Miss Connecticut State Contestant
One recipient to be awarded at the Miss Connecticut Pageant in June
Southington, Conn. May 21, 2015 – For the second consecutive year, Waterbury, Conn.-based Post University will award one Miss Connecticut state contestant with an in-kind scholarship for a Master’s Degree program. The recipient of this competitive award is chosen by a special panel of educators, and the winner will be announced onstage at the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Mohegan Sun.
“Our organization is differentiated from other pageant programs by our gifting of thousands of scholarship dollars each year to some of Connecticut’s most outstanding and driven young women,” said Gail McCool, executive director of the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Corporation. “We are incredibly grateful to Post University for their generous in-kind scholarship gift which will be instrumental in one contestant’s journey to further her education.”
Last year's in-kind scholarship award recipient, Krystie Lynn Seese, is currently earning her second Master’s Degree in Master of Education (M.Ed.). Seese has called the Award "the scholarship of a lifetime."
To qualify for the Award, a contestant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree within the next three school years (2015-2018), and also meet Post University's eligibility requirements at the time of enrollment.
“Post University’s support of the Miss Connecticut Scholarship Corporation speaks to the commitment of both organizations to support life-long learners,” said Post President Don Mroz, Ph.D. “As the University celebrates its 125th anniversary in 2015, we’re thrilled to continue this relationship for a second year and certainly wish the contestants the best of luck in June!”
